What is a protected disclosure?
A protected disclosure (commonly known as whistleblowing) involves a worker reporting information that they believe shows wrongdoing, such as:

- Health and safety risks to individuals
- Environmental harm or damage
- Abuse of authority or unethical behaviour
- Concealment or destruction of evidence related to any of the above
Disclosures made in good faith are legally protected, and workers must not suffer penalisation or retaliation as a result.
